Dileep (Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan)

Dileep (Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan) started his film career as an assistant director with Kamal. is an actor in the Malayalam film industrys.

Dileep, who came from mimicry and comedy shows, made his debut in acting with a minor role in Kamal’s ‘Ennodu Ishtam Koodamo’ in 1992. It was in 1994, that he first appeared in the main role in the movie ‘Manathe Kottaram’

He has completed more than 150 films now. He is known for his excellent sense of humour and ability to attract the family audience to the movies.

He completed primary education from Vidyadhiraja Vidya Bhavan Higher Secondary School in Aluva and secondary education from Union Christian College, Aluva. He then did his graduation from Maharajas College, Ernakulam.

He won the Filmfare Award for best actor in 2002 for the movie ‘Meesha Madhavan’. He also won several awards including Kerala State Film Awards for best actor in 2002, Kerala Film Critics Association Awards, South Indian International Movie Awards, etc.

Dileep was born to Padmanabhan Pillai and Sarojam. Anoop and Sabitha are his siblings. He married Malayalam actress Manju Warrier in 1998. They have a daughter Meenakshi. They decided to divorce in 2015. Later, Dileep married Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan in 2016, and the couple has a daughter born in 2018.
