He made his acting debut on 28 January 2012 as Che Guevara Surendran in the movie Prabhuvinte Makkal. During the last decade in the Malayalam film industry, he has acted in over 30 movies.
Before making a career in the movie industry he has acted in music albums and short films. He is also an avid bodybuilder and fitness enthusiast.
He launched his own production house Tovino Thomas Productions in 2021.
Tovino graduated with Btech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Tamil Nadu College of Engineering, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
He later worked as a software engineer at Cognizant Technologies (CTS).
He won Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor – Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015).
For his performance in Mayanadi (2017) he won the Kerala Film Critics Association Award and Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor.
Tovino is the youngest son of Adv. Ellikkal Thomas and Sheela Thomas. He has one brother Tingston Thomas and a sister Dhanya Thomas.
Tovino married his longtime girlfriend, Lidiya on 25 October 2014. They have two children together, a daughter Izza Tovino born on 11th January 2016 and Tahaan Tovino born on 6th June 2020.
