Byju Raveendran is the founder and CEO of Edutech start-up Byju's which is India’s biggest company in the education tech space. In 2007, Byju founded the test preparation business Byju's Classes. Later in 2011, he founded Byju's along with his wife Divya.
He completed B.Tech from the Government College of Engineering, Kannur.
He has been honoured with several awards like Entrepreneur of the year 2019 by Ernst and Young,
Fortune Magazine's '40 Under 40' in 2020,
Forbes India Leadership Award (FILA) Entrepreneur for the Year in 2021 etc.
He comes from a family of teaches, his mother Shobhanaballi was a mathematics teacher and his father Raveendran was a physics teacher.
He met his wife Divya Gokulnath while she was a student in his exam preparation class. They have two children together.
He has a younger brother Riju Raveendran, who is working as a Director at Byjus.
He scored 100 percentile in CAT exam without any preparation. This eventually led him to create Byju's Classes which taught students how to prepare for exams.
