Dr. Jassie Gift is a music composer and playback singer who mainly works in the South Indian film industry.
He made his debut as a music composer in 2003 with the Malayalam film Safalam. He gained wide recognition with his music for the 2004 Malayalam film ‘4 the People’, which became a major commercial success.
Jassie Gift has also composed music for a number of Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu films.
He has a doctorate in philosophy. In 2022, he received his doctorate from Kannur University. His thesis was on the philosophy of harmony and bliss in relation to Advaita and Buddhism.
He has won several awards for his work, including the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director – Kannada (2011) and the Bangalore Times Film Awards for Best Music Director (2011).
He was born to Gift Israel and Rajamma.
Jassie married Dr. Athulya, who holds a PhD in Information Technology/Physics from Kannur University, on September 12, 2012.
He also wrote a music album called "Rain, Rain, Come Again," which is a mix of Indian and Western music.
