Lijo Jose Pellissery (LJP)

Lijo Jose Pellissery (LJP) is a Malayalam film director. His famous works include Amen (2013), Ee.Ma.Yau. (2018), Jallikattu (2019), Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam (2023) etc.

His career started as an assistant to Manoj Pillai, an ad filmmaker. Lijo made his debut as Film director in 2010 with the crime film Nayakan.

Over his career Lijo Jose Pellissery has directed 9 films & has co-produced 10 films.

His film "Angamaly Diaries" (2017) introduced 86 newcomers, revolutionizing casting in the film industry.

He has master's degree in business administration from the Indian Institute of Plantation Management, Bangalore.

He has won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Director twice, for "Ee.Ma.Yau" (2018) and "Jallikattu" (2019).

Additionally, he clinched the Best Director awards at both the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) for these same films.

His parents are Lilly and Jose Pellissery, a known film and theatre actor. He is married to Jasmine James.

In his youth, he fled from home, seeking freedom from the pressures of family life.
