John Brittas

John Brittas is an Indian politician, journalist and managing director of Kairali TV (Malayalam Communications Ltd by Communist party of India launched in the year 2000).

He was elected to Rajya Sabha from Kerala as CPI(M) nominee on 24 April 2021 and took oath on 8 June 2021.

He started his journalism carrier in print media working as a sub-editor in Deshabhimanim, Malayalam newspaper of CPI(M).

Later in 2000 when Kairali TV was launched he became its MD. He also did a 2-year stint as the CEO of Asianet Communications from May 2011 - Feb 2013.

John Brittas completed his Master of Philosophy at Jawaharlal Nehru University, new Delhi in 1996.

John Brittas was the youngest correspondent to get the Central Hall pass in the Parliament.

John Brittas' fathers name is Paily. He is married to Sheba Brittas (A Central Govt Employee). They have 2 kids Anna Brittas, Anand Brittas.

John Brittas starred in the 2014 movie Vellivelichathil (വെള്ളിവെളിച്ചത്തിൽ) in a leading role.
