He started his acting career as a junior artist in the film Mazhavilkoodaram in 1995 and continued doing such roles until 2010. He has appeared in over 100 films so far. In 2018, he produced and played his first leading role in Joseph, a critical and commercial success, which became his breakthrough. He also owns a production company named Appu Pathu Pappu Production.
Joju did schooling from GHS Kuzhur, Kerala. He studied at the Christ College, Irinjalakuda .
He has won the National Film Award – Special Mention and Kerala State Film Award for Best Character Actor (along with his role in Chola) for the film Joseph. He also won the Kerala State Film Award – Special Mention for his supporting roles in Oru Second Class Yathra and Lukka Chuppi in 2015.
Joju George was born to George Parecattil and Rosy George. He married Abba in 2008 and has three children Ian, Sarah and Ivan.
