Mamukkoya

Mamukkoya was a film actor most famous for his comedic roles in various films.

Mamukkoya started his career as a theatre actor. He made his debut in the Malayalam film industry through the movie Anyarude Bhoomi in 1979.

He had acted in nearly 500 films, including a few Tamil and 1 French/Swiss German movie. He has also appeared on TV in Serials and also as a Guest on reality shows.

Mamukkoya, passed away at the age of 76 after being admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode due to a brain haemorrhage and cardiac arrest following his collapse at a football tournament in Wandoor, Malappuram.

Mamukkoya did his primary education from MM High School, Calicut.

In 2004, Mamukkoya received a Special Mention in the Kerala State Film Award for the movie Perumazhakkalam.

In 2008, he became the first winner of the State award for Best Comedian in Malayalam cinema, for his role in the film Innathe Chintha Vishayam.

Mamukkoya's parents are Chalikandiyil Muhammed and Imbachi Ayisha. He has a brother Koyakutty.

He is married to Suhara. The couple has four children, Muhammed Nisar, Shahitha, Nadiya and Abdul Rasheed.

Mamukkoya has appeared in the 1997 French/Swiss German film Flammen im Paradies (Flames in Paradise), a story about a rich woman who swaps places with a poor woman on the way to meet her fiance in India.
