Manju Warrier

The Lady Superstar of Kerala Manju Warrier is regarded as one of the most prolific actresses in Malayalam cinema. Manju Warrier was a trained dancer since her childhood. For two years she won the Kalathilakam award at the Kerala Youth Festival.

She first appeared in a television serial Moharavam which was telecast on Doordarshan. Manju made her acting debut in 1995 at the age of 17, for the movie Sakshyam. In 1998, she took a pause from acting after her marriage with actor Dileep. During these 3 years, she acted in 20 films. She returned to her acting career in 2014 and has acted in over 18 films since then.

She has won several awards over the years including Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress (1996), 6 Filmfare Awards South for Malayalam best actress, the National Film Award - Special Jury Award in 1999.

Manju was born to Mr. T. V. Madhavan and Girija Warrier. She has an elder brother, Madhu Warrier, who is also an actor and producer.

Manju married actor Dileep in October 1998. The couple has a daughter, Meenakshi. They filed for divorce in 2014 and it was granted in January 2015.

Manju released her autobiography Sallapam (Memories) in October 2013.
