Meera Jasmine/Jasmine Mary Joseph debuted in 2001 through the movie ‘Soothradhaaran’. She predominantly appears in Malayalam films but has also appeared in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films. She has appeared in about 65 films so far.
Meera completed her schooling at Bala Vihar, Thiruvalla and Marthoma Residential School, Thiruvalla. She then joined for a BSc degree in Zoology at Assumption College, Changanassery, but she only attended the first few months of the college as she got an opportunity in the film industry.
She won the National Award for Best Actress for the movie ‘Paadam Onnu: Oru Viplavam” in 2004. She won many other awards including Kerala State Film Award, Tamil Nadu State Film Award, Kerala Film Critics Association Awards, Filmfare Awards, etc.
Meeja Jasmine's father's name is Joseph and Mothers name is Aleyamma Joseph. She has two sisters and two brothers. She married Anil John Titus in 2014 who works as an engineer in Dubai.
Meera Jasmine wanted to be a doctor when she was young. She had never dreamt of becoming an actress or an artist. Destiny made her one of the successful Malayalam film actresses.
In 2008 she faced an unofficial ban from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) when she refused to shoot for the movie ‘Twenty 20’.
