Pinarayi Vijayan

Pinarayi Vijayan is the Chief Minister of Kerala since 25 May 2016 (Sworn in for the second time in a row on 20 May 2021).

He entered politics through student union activities at Government Brennen College, Thalassery. He eventually joined the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in 1964.

He is a B.A. Economics degree graduate from Government Brennen College, Thalassery.

He is the youngest son of Koran and Kalyani. He is married to Kamala Vijayan (a retired teacher) and has two children.
