About E. K. Nayanar

E. K. Nayanar was a prominent politician who played a significant role in Kerala. He was as a leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI(M).

Nayanar served as the Chief Minister of Kerala on three separate occasions, making him the longest-serving Chief Minister in the state's history.

Known for his simple and affable personality, Nayanar had a mass appeal among the common people.

Under his leadership, he implemented various welfare measures and policies, focusing on social justice, rural development, and workers' rights. Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram, was established during the time E K Nayanar was serving as chief minister (28 July 1990).

He was born as the second son of Govindan Nambiar and Narayani Amma.

Nayanar married Sarada Teacher, the niece of K. P. R. Gopalan, in 1958. They had two sons and two daughters.
