Rima Kallingal

Rima Kallingal made her Malayalam film debut at the age of 25 with Ritu in 2009. She has also received numerous accolades, including a Filmfare Award when she acted in the film. Over the year she has appeared in over 34 films. Before entering movies she was a model and was first runner-up in the Miss Kerala beauty pageant in 2008 She started dancing at the age of 3. In 2014 she set up her own Dance institute Mamangam in Kochi, Kerala. She is also skilled in Taekwondo, Chao (Manipuri martial art) and Kalari.

She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Christ University, Bengaluru.

She has won several awards over the years including several Asianet Film Award for Best Actress in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014.

Rima's father's name is Ashokan Kallingal. She married director Aashiq Abu on 1 November 2013.

Rima Kallingal is the first person in the Malayalam film industry to create an NFT 'The Insurgent Bloom' inspired by the flower Neelakurinji.

Her TED talk on changing Gender Discrimination in the Movie Industry has been viewed almost half a million times.
