He is the founder and managing director of Safari TV, a channel dedicated to travel and history-based programmes. He is also the head of Labour India Publications, an educational publication for students.
He has travelled to more than 130 countries. His travel experiences are telecasted through the program Sancharam.
He did his post-graduation in journalism and mass communication from Madurai Kamaraj University.
Santhosh George Kulangara has won several awards for his work, notably the Kerala Sahitya Academi Award for Best Travelogue (2012). Other notable awards include K.R. Narayanan Award (instituted by the K.R. Narayanan Foundation), All India RAPA Award instituted by Radio, National Film Academy Award etc.
He was born to V. J George Kulangara and Rosamma George. He is married to Soncy Kulangara and has two children Sarika George Kulangara, George Kulangara.
Sancharam is the first visual travelogue in Malayalam. The first episode of Sancharam was broadcast in Asianet in 2001, for which he received no remuneration.
He directed and produced an English movie, Chandrayaan, based on Chandrayaan-1, India first lunar probe.
