Senapathy "Kris" Gopalakrishnan is a businessman. He co-founded Infosys, where he served as the CEO and managing director from 2007 to 2011. He retired from the company in 2014 after being at the company for over 33 years.
Since his retirement, he has invested in several startups through his business incubator Axilor Ventures and some venture funds.
Mr Gopalakrishnan holds Master’s degrees in physics and computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Kris is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineers (INAE) and an Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) of India.
In January 2011, the Government of India awarded Mr. Gopalakrishnan the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian honor.
