Sithara Krishnakumar

Sithara was introduced to the world of music as a child and started singing at the age of four. She started off her career as a dancer and eventually became a playback singer Her playback singing career started with the song Pammi Pammi in Athishayan in the year 2007. Over the years she has sung over 300 film songs including Malayalam and other Indian languages.

In 2017, she turned composer by Writing and composing the single Ente Akasham. Her first film music composition was in 2018 for the film Udalaazham.

She graduated in English Literature from Farook College (Kozhikode). She also secured her master's degree from Calicut University.

Over her career, she has won several awards, notably Kerala state film Awards twice for Best Singer in 2012 and 2017 and South Indian International Movie Awards for Best Female Playback Singer in 2014 and 2019.

Sithara was born to Mr K. M. Krishnakumar and Saly Krishnakumar. She is married to Dr Sajish M, a cardiologist on 31 August 2007. The couple has a daughter Saawan Rithu born on 9 June 2013. The family resides in Aluva, Kochi Kerala.
