Suresh Gopi is a film actor and Politician. He made his debut in the Malayalam film industry as a child actor through the movie ‘Odayil Ninnu’ in 1965. Since then he has appeared in more than 250 films now. He is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha.
He completed his schooling at Infant Jesus Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School in Kollam. He pursued higher education at Fatima Mata National College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and a Master of Arts degree in English literature.
He won the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in the movie ‘Kaliyattam’ in 1998. He also won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for the same movie.
He was born to Gopinathan Pillai and V.Gnanalekshmi Amma. He has three younger brothers: Subash, Sunil and Sanil. He married Radhika Nair and the couple have four children: Lakshmi, Gokul, Bhagya and Bhavani. Lakshmi died in a car accident when she was just one and a half years old. Gokul is also an actor in the Malayalam film industry.
