Suresh Pillai

Suresh Pillai is a chef and television/social media personality. He is best known as a contestant of the MasterChef UK reality show of BBC (the second Malayalee chef to get selected).

Suresh started his career as a waiter at a restaurant in Kollam, Kerala after his high school education. Later he has worked in Leela (Bangalore), Veeraswamy restaurant (UK’s oldest Indian Restaurant) etc. He was the corporate chef and Culinary Director at The Raviz Hotel, Kollam.

He is also the founder of Restaurant Chef Pillai. He has now opened 6 different restaurants (Restaurant Chef Pillai, United Coconut, North Rasoi, Caking, Kothuxpress, Thenga Manga Cloud Kitchen ) in over 27 cities spanning 9 countries.

He completed his schooling from GPHSS, Chavara South. He has not been to college but has learned new techniques from housewives, cook books and top class chefs to make up for the lack of formal training.

Suresh Pillai was born to Sasidharan Pillai and Radhamma. His wife's name is Remya Suresh, they are married since September 2005.

Suresh was invited as a guest lecturer at the University of The Bahamas in its Culinary and Hospitality Management Institute to teach Indian and Kerala cuisine to their students.

He was a chess player and has participated in several state and national level competitions.
