About T. C. Yohannan

Thadathuvila Chandapillai Yohannan (T. C. Yohannan) is a former Indian long jumper.

He represented India in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

His personal best at long jump is 8.07 metres, set at Teheran Asian Games ( this was an Asian record at the time).

Education

He is diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering.

Awards and recognitions

He has been honoured with several awards during his career notably Arjuna Award ( for Outstanding Performance in Sports and Games ) in 1974.

Family life

He is married to Aney Yohannan. They have two children Tisvy Yohannan and Tinu Yohannan (former cricketer).

Fun fact

He was the first Indian to cross 8 metres in the long jump event. He also held the national record for nearly 3 decades.
